Mr. Jamie Aguayo (President) - He is a former member of Governor Donald Carcieri’s Commission on Hispanic Affairs. He also was a former Chairman and Co-founder of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Aguayo retired as a small-business development technician for the US Small Business Development in Rhode Island, where he worked for 25 years. He current owns and operates a small business in Providence, RI.

Mr. Julius Kolawole (Vice President) - President and Cofounder of the African Alliance of Rhode Island (AARI). Mr. Kolawole retired last year after working as an electrical engineer at National Grid. He is an adjunct professor at Bristol Community College. Graduated from City College of New York and received a master’s from Brooklyn Polytechnic and an MBA from Johnson & Wales. He was an assistant professor at the University of Ilorin in Nigeria in 1982. He also taught at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is a cofounder and former President of Oasis International in Providence and chairman of a credit union. Mr. Kolawole also spends time providing assistance to young people in the community.

Mr. Adam Diaz (Treasurer) - Partner at Aaronson Lavoie Streitfeld Diaz. Mr. Diaz is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, and worked as an accountant at an international bank for more than six years. He is proficient in Spanish and has worked in public accounting for more than five years. He specializes in tax planning and preparation, business planning and audits of non-profit organizations.

Dr. Edward Mazze, Ph.D. is Distinguished University Professor of Business Administration at the University of Rhode Island. He also served as Dean of the College of Business Administration and held the Alfred J. Verrecchia-Hasbro Inc. Leadership Chair in Business at the University of Rhode Island. Prior to his appointment at the University of Rhode Island, he served as Dean of The Belk College of Business Administration at The University of North Carolina-Charlotte and Co-Director, The Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise, Dean of the School of Business and Management at Temple University and Dean of the W. Paul Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University. He received BBA and MBA degrees from the City University of New York and the Ph.D. degree from The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Mazze currently serves on the Board of Directors of Home Loan Investment Bank, FSB and the Ocean State Business Development Authority. He has served on the Board of Directors of Pulse Electronics Corporation (NYSE), Washington Trust Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ), the Barrett Growth Fund and advisory boards of closely held corporations.

Dr. Chon Meng Wong, Ph.D. - Dr. Wong is known as a technology innovator in several fields with over twenty five years of entreprenuer experience. He has gained the theoretical training from his PhD dissertation at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and experimental training from the MS, EE, BSc Theses at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University of London King’s College. He has published a chapter on “Flexible Circuits” in Handbook of Flexible Circuits by Van Nostrand. He has been a guest speaker for the Harvard University Ideas Translation Laboratory undergraduate course in 2008/2009 and is currently involved with a group of high school students in guiding them to the path of innovation and transforming ideas to a real business. Dr. Wong holds several US patents and world wide patents. He is a co-founded Care Technology, LLC. and a co-author in Life Signs Active Monitoring and Diagnostics systems (LISA MDsTM) . He is fluent in English, Chinese, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Mr. Robert L. Fay, Jr. - Mr. Fay is currently the Vice President Business Development, Ocean Capital, Division of Home Loan Investment Bank developing SBA Loans primarily in New England. Bob has over 30 years of Commercial lending experience, with several lending institutions. Bob has a B.S., Business Administration / Finance from University of Rhode Island and is a father of 3 daughters, grandfather of one granddaughter, volunteers for various community organizations, enjoys writing, swimming and art.

Mr. Andrew M. Cagen Esq. graduated from Suffolk University Law School and has been an attorney since 1976. Soon after graduation, he became greatly involved in “Stop Wasting Abandoned Property”, as a member of its board and its attorney. He represented many of the people who bought abandoned houses and rehabilitated them. Besides gaining experience in resolving some extremely thorny title and financing questions, he was delighted to be part of the process that helped people own homes and revitalize Providence. He is excited to do similar work in the business coomunity. In 1990, he received an award, the only one given to an individual that year, from Rhode Island Housing & Mortgage Finance Corporation for efforts to promote home ownership of low and moderate-income people. His practice, Cagen Law Office, has continued to serve the needs of consumers in civil matters and small businesses. For many years he practiced on Elmwood Avenue in the South Elmwood neighborhood and currently has an office at 189 Wickenden Street in Fox Point.

Mrs. Gertrude F. Jones Mrs. Jones is the President of Git International Distribution. She was the Vice President of Community Relations at Lifespan Inc. RI, were she was in charge of formulating, designing and implementing Lifespan's strategic and operational objectives to enhance the connection and alignment of the communities served by Lifespan and its affiliated hospitals. She previously held the position as Director of Diversity, where as Lifespan’s EEO Officer, she created and led a multi-dimensional diversity strategy, engaging senior executive leaders in understanding diversity in health care systems and gaining their support. Increased participation of senior executives on community boards in the minority community. Gertrude also worked as the Deputy Director at Urban League, RI and as Gift Coordinator at Brown University. She is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University, RI where she received a B.S in Business Management and A.S in Finance / Investments. She also attended Simmons College, Boston, MA, where she received her Certificate of Healthcare Diversity Management. Gertrude is also affiliated with several organizations like: Member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights State Advisory Committee Member; Former Chairwoman of United Way of RI Women’s Leadership Council; Advisory Council member of Providence/Warwick Convention Visitors Bureau, to name a few.
